Lieutenant Governor Marketing

In response to our District Governor’s request back in early January, I took over the reins of our membership and marketing effort from Julie Brown, who had to resign as LGM due to extreme pressures from the career side of her life.  I look forward to working with the excellent team Julie assembled, and additional members I have added as your new LGM, because I strongly believe that marketing must be a team effort.

So far this year we have made great progress. Four clubs have already been chartered during Julie’s term, and four more are well along the chartering process.   Our pipeline of new prospects is filling almost faster than we can process the new leads.  We are not only getting leads through Toastmasters International, but through inputs from our Division Governors, Area Governors, and experienced club members.  Keep those leads flowing folks!  Along those same lines, you will find places on our website to input lead information, but also places to sign up as a potential club sponsor or mentor in support of both building new clubs and also meeting ALS requirements.

In addition to building new clubs, our team efforts also include building up the membership of our existing clubs that are short of charter strength.  In addition to trying to find Coaches for clubs with fewer than 13 members, we are trying to provide experienced speakers and evaluators to participate in open houses, joint meetings with other clubs and other special events at the club level to bring in membership prospects. You can find places in this section of the website to sign up as a potential Coach, or just to let us know you might be available as a speaker or evaluator at special events.

Our marketing team is providing publicity, and PRIZES, for the annual Toastmasters International membership promotions, like “Talk Up Toastmasters”, “Beat the Clock” and our own local, “March Madness” promotion that focuses on retention of members.

You will find descriptions, rules, and reward information for these promotions in this section of the website.

Look for my team and me to participate in the remaining month of our TLI season by training VPMs and working with all the officers to develop tailored, local marketing efforts at the club level.  You will also see us at the Speech Contests, as that is another excellent way to showcase the results of our Toastmaster’s program to new and potential members.

If you don’t see a way to reach the membership and marketing team on these website pages, please email or phone me directly.  Your support and ideas are actively sought as I try to step up to fill the LGM role in the coming months.
