What is the Mission of the TLI team?
Our Mission is to present outstanding training program s that give club officers the knowledge and resources they need to be successful in serving club members
This is accomplished by using the excellent Toastmasters International programs as a base, augmented by the specific knowledgeable and experience of carefully selected trainers and a curriculum designed to teach core competencies plus club officer team work through fusion training and directed electives.
Why should I attend officer training?
To meet requirements set by the Toastmasters International’s Distinguished Club Program. However, the key reason for attending club officer training is that TLI provides the best opportunity for officers to serve the member and meet their needs!
Well trained offers lead to member satisfaction, higher retention rates, to meetings that are educational and fun, and to distinguished status for clubs
Is there an agenda for the training?
An agenda will be available at each TLI event. The TLI program is divided into three sessions:
1. A Core Competency session for each officer role for in-depth training on the standards for the office
2. Directed electives relevant to specific roles and featuring a mix of officers (fusion) who learn to cooperate together in a club setting.
3. Open electives that offer courses of interest on subjects relevant to personal growth, club management and other areas.
What training is required for credit?
Attendance at the Core Competency and Directed Elective session are required for to receive DCP credit.
In order to receive credit for training you must sign in at the Registration Desk on the day of the event. D27 does not have a preregistration process
I have been an officer before. Do I still have to attend?
Yes. It is part of the standards of the office as defined by Toastmasters International.
You probably won’t “absorb” all the material presented the first time, second time, or even the 10th time you hear the material. You may also gain a fresh perspective from a different teacher or the other attendees. And even if you’ve been to training before, your perspective may help out other attendees.
