New Officers take charge 7/1!
On July 1, Club and District Officers take office and the Distringuished
Club Program year begins. This is a good time to review all the resources we
have for Clubs and Club Officers in our Resources
To Help Clubs.
Fall Contest Season -- new VPE's, it comes sooner than you
think
In July and August, Clubs should begin to prepare for the Table Topics and
Humorous Speech contests, which they should hold in late August or early September.
Note that Area and Division Contests are usually held in mid-September and October.

Honor the best Toastmaster you know -- get them a special
award
The District Governor will appoint a committee to select the Toastmaster of
the Year, Club President of the Year, Area Governor of the Year, and Division
Governor of the Year from applications submitted in July of each year.

Proxies for both the Regional Conference and the International
Convention
Proxies are mailed to Club Presidents by March 31. Presidents sign them and
mail them to the District Governor before the Regional Conference in June and
the International Conference in August.
Please check the current District 27 printed Directory for the District Governor's
mailing address, or ask your Area Governor or Division Governor where to send
it.
If you misplace yours, you can receive a single replacement copy of
the proxy by contacting WHQ.

Club Presidents - Get your DCP Book and Officer Manuals from the previous President of your Club - they've been mailed
Distinguished Club Program booklet (Catalog No. 1111) and Club Officer handbooks for the coming year are mailed to the outgoing Club Presidents in May. Newly elected Presidents should ask their predecessor for the set.
Verify Summer TLI Attendance for DCP
Club Officers should verify TLI (Toastmasters Leadership Institute) attendance by checking on this web site (or by checking with the Lt Governor Education or the TLI Dean). Corrections can be made until approximately November 15 by contacting the TLI Dean.
When the spreadsheet is available, there will be a link to it either at the top of this page (under Special News), or on the main TLI page.
Pre-Register for Summer TLI
Go to our pre-registration page to pre-register. Pre-registration helps you
get through the registration lines quicker and ensures your name is spelled
coprrectly on your certificate.
Summer TLI
Note that as further details become available they will be
provided in the Special News section at the top of this page.
TLI (Toastmasters Leadership Institute) is normally held on 2-3 Saturdays
in June and July. In addition, Divisions hold supplemental training in July
and August.
Club Officers need to attend any one of the dates. In order to receive 1
DCP Point, at least 4 officers must be trained at both the Summer
and Winter TLI Training (or division supplemental training).

By September 30, the Area Governors should perform
their first round of Area Visits. The forms for the first round of visits
are given to the Area Governors at their training in June.

Area Governors, Division Governors, and their representatives who want their
contact information published on the website can use the Contact
Authorization Form.
Areas and Divisions should prepare for Fall Contests
Between July and September, the Areas and Divisions begin to prepare for the
Table Topics and Humorous Speech Contests. These contests are usually
held during during September and October for Areas, and in October for Divisions.

contests in late August and early September. The Area Contests start in mid-September
and the Divisions start having their contests in October. The District will

DCP Awards -- due by 6/30.
The Distinguished Club Program year ends on June 30. All entries must be either (1) submitted online by 6/30 (midnight Pacific time) or (2) postmarked by 6/30 and received by 7/7.
CTM, ATM, CL, AL, and DTM applications, new member applications, etc., for the Distinguished Club Program must be postmarked no later than June 30 and received at World Headquarters by 5 p.m. PT, July 7, to be considered for this Toastmaster's year. Don't wait until the last minute - mail early!
Send Officer Lists to WHQ and District (by 06/30)
The completed officer lists (names and addresses of newly elected officers) for all Clubs are due at World Headquarters by 5 p.m. PT on June 30. Clubs meeting this deadline receive 1/2 of a DCP Point in the Distinguished Club Program for the upcoming Toastmasters year.
The forms were mailed to the Club Presidents in May or can be downloaded from WHQ at http://www.toastmasters.org/pdfs/clubinfo.pdf. Please send one copy to WHQ and once copy to the District Governor. Or you can fill this form out on-line at http://www.toastmasters.org/officerchange.asp?location=U.S. Don't forget to enter the District Governor's and your Division Governor's email address so they can get a copy of your officers. The email addresses can be found on the Contact Us Page.

It's time for Club elections (early May)
Club elections are held at the first meeting in May for all Clubs. Begin soliciting early for new officers (early April). The Immediate Past President normally is in charge of a 3-person Nominating Committee.
